Buschbrand bedroht US-Atomforschungszentrums Los Alamos Ereignis

Das Atomforschungszentrum Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) im US-Bundesstaat New Mexiko wurde am 27. Juni 2011 wegen schwerer Buschbrände geschlossen. Der Brand habe sich dem ausgedehnten Gelände bis auf knapp 1,5 Kilometer genähert, teilte ein Sprecher des Zentrums mit. Die nahe gelegene Stadt Los Alamos mit ihren 12.000 Einwohnern wurde zwangsweise evakuiert.

A raging forest fire threatened the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico on 27 July 2011 and led to the evacuation of thousands of nearby residents. The fire started in Santa Fe national forest on Sunday and has so far burnt 200 sq km (78 sq miles).
