Die Spinne lebt in unterirdischen Höhlen, Kellern, Bergwerksstollen und im Inneren von Blockhalden mit mittlerer Feuchtigkeit, bei konstanten Temperaturen ab 7°C. Die Körperlänge der Höhlenspinne Meta menardi beträgt beim Männchen 11 bis 13 mm, beim Weibchen 14 bis 17 mm.
