Technip to lay the world’s deepest gas pipeline, for Shell in the Gulf of Mexico
Das Unternehmen Shell hat den Bau der tiefsten Gaspipeline der Welt in Auftrag gegeben. Auftragnehmer ist der französische Anlagenbauer Technip. Das Unternehmen teilte am 23. August 2013 mit, dass die Leitung in einer Tiefe von 2.900 Meter verlaufen soll. Die Pipeline soll das im Förderfeld Stones Field im Golf von Mexiko geförderte Gas aufnehmen. Im Stones Field rund 300 Kilometer südwestlich der US-Metropole New Orleans vermutet Shell Ölreserven im Umfang von zwei Milliarden Barrel.
French Energy services company Technip said on 23 August 2013, it would work on the installation of the world's deepest underwater gas pipeline for Shell, planned for the Gulf of Mexico. The field is located in the Walker Ridge area in the US Gulf of Mexico, at a water depth of approximately 2,900 meters (9,500 feet).
