European Commission adopts a new Action Plan to improve the protection of nature and biodiversity in the EU
Die Europäische Kommission verabschiedete am 27. April 2017 einen neuen Aktionsplan, der den Schutz von Natur und Biodiversität in der EU verbessern soll. Der Plan umfasst 15 Maßnahmen, die bis zum Jahr 2019 durchzuführen sind und die Umsetzung der Vogelschutz- und der FFH-Richtlinie, der zentralen Naturschutzmaßnahmen der EU, rasch verbessern sollen. Sie konzentrieren sich vier Schwerpunktbereiche: Verbesserung von Leitlinien und Wissen sowie der Vereinbarkeit mit allgemeineren sozio-ökonomischen Zielen; Übernahme politischer Eigenverantwortung und Verbesserung der Rechtseinhaltung; Förderung von Investitionen in Natura-2000-Projekte und Verbesserung der Verwendung der EU-Fördermittel; Bessere Kommunikation und Sensibilisierung, Einbindung von Bürgern, Interessenträgern und Gemeinschaften.
On 27 April 2017 the European Commission adopted a new action plan to improve the protection of nature and biodiversity in the European Union (EU). The Plan consists of 15 actions to be carried out by 2019 to rapidly improve the implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives, which are the EU's flagship nature policies. The 15 actions focus on 4 priority areas: Improving guidance and knowledge and ensuring better coherence with broader socio-economic objectives; Building political ownership and strengthening compliance; Strengthening investment in Natura 2000 and improving use of EU funding; Better communication and outreach, engaging citizens, stakeholders and communities.
